The MAPS Advantage: for eQualifications
MAPS for eQualifications is ideally suited to support staff and students working towards a wide range of qualifications.
For some time TAG Learning has been working with major Awarding Bodies to simplify the moderation of coursework. Through MAPS, students can upload their work - for example, digital documents, presentations, spreadsheets and other electronic file types - and have the work marked by their teacher. Marks can also be tagged against coursework mark sheets. Teachers can see at the click of the mouse how their students are progressing against each specific component of each qualification.
For those Awarding Bodies who are able to accept coursework electronically, then thanks to MAPS, teachers can now submit moderated coursework directly from MAPS to a secure area for viewing by the respective Awarding Body. This has obvious benefits in terms of speed (submissions are virtually instantaneous), cost and safety. The risk of material being lost in transit is greatly diminished too.
There are still many qualifications that cannot be submitted electronically directly to the Awarding Body. In that case, thanks to MAPS, all marked coursework can easily be archived onto a CD - with student work tagged and saved against the relevant mark scheme - and this CD can then be submitted to the Awarding Body.
